Meet Joni

behind the scenes

I was always yours to have. You were always mine. We have loved each other in and out of time.” – Maya Angelou

My photography journey started unexpectedly. I looked at a camera so I could become a Youtuber. That was my goal and I had so many plans to get that started. However, once I started taking pictures, I couldn’t put my camera down. I decided to try taking portraits of friends and family for practice.

In 2018, I tried every type of portrait session. Newborn, sitters, cake smash, maternity, couples, families, fitness, etc. I wanted to see what. I liked and didn’t like. Three years later, I have decided that I love weddings, engagements, maternity, and family photography. Being part of a family story as they go from engaged lovers to newlyweds, to new parents is so amazing to watch!

Who is Joni Beyond Photography?

I have a few hobbies when I am not taking pictures. I started bowling in a league in 2018. Hold on though! I’m not averaging anywhere close to 300. I usually play in Mulligan leagues with my best friend. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have taken a break from bowling and enjoyed spending more time with my loved ones.

I have been blessed to be the auntie to three beautiful children! I met their parents while I served in the United States Air Force and we were stationed in the same places for over FIVE YEARS!

I grew up in Bend, OR with my younger brother and my mom and dad. They still live there with their two pups Sophie and Oscar! I have two puppies of my own! Cooper is a five year old Bichon Frise and Lola is a three year old Maltese Yorkie. I have had both of them since they were babies.
